Here are some ideas that might help you...um...well try describing a landscape and then within that scenery, pick an object, and then while you're thinking about it try to use more than one theme to relate to it. You could start by how it looks, compare it to something, then try to personify it.
Everyone is suddenly invisible...
Write about something that inspires you. For the poem to be truly yours you need to write about something that makes you happy. Maybe listen to a good song. Or go somewhere like a coffee shop and look for interesting thing. I am a writer myself and have been published twice. I understand this feeling. Truly I do. All you have o do is look for inspiration, its everywhere. Maybe reflect on a feeling you have had weather its pain or love or maybe a childhood experience you wish to relive or hurt you but you grew form it.
You got this.
Hey, I noticed you said you've been published twice? I was wondering what your name is and what books you've written? I want to be an author, it's my dream ... but I can't get my book published yetOriginally Posted by theycallmeginger
Could you give me any tips on how to get it published?
By the way, I'm Holly![]()
The more personal it is to you , the better it is. You wan the readers to feel what your writing also with your emotions pouring all over the paper .
Do not write about just simple happiness or describe some physical beauty. That's frolicky, if I were to set a word to it. Write about something important, something that perpetually applies to the human condition. Given your urgency I would assume this poem is needed as some sort of class assignment or some mandate, for otherwise you would not be forcing out a poem without an idea about which to write.

With my feet upon the ground I lose myself between the sounds
and open wide to suck it in, I feel it move across my skin.
I'm reaching up and reaching out, I'm reaching for the random or

We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been.
