    The First Line

take the good and the bad
    opinions that you have
    whatevers made you sad
    experiences that you've had
    your goals for the tomorrow
    things that can't be borrowed
    the heartache and the sorrow
the forgotten and the down low
for the people on the streets
who have no where to sleep
    so they stand strong willed
as we watch their eyes leak.
for the child warm in bed
    with dreams in their head
    taking a strong stance
against the lies they'll be fed.
there are plenty of reasons for people to write
to honor, and encourage. to defend or to fight
to send someone emotion. or a wrong to make right
its crazy how a person can gauge
by what they write on a single page.
