    Stage Photos

I am not a great photographer and like a mostly automatic camera, as I'm not very skilled at all the settings on my own. I am looking for a camera that would take good photos of someone on a stage. The problem is that when you are in a theater you are asked to turn your flash off. When you turn the flash off, the automatic cameras that i have, keep the shutter open longer since its dark in theaters, even thought the stage is bright. Because the shutter is open longer, any movement on the stage appears as a blur. Any suggestions for a camera that might have a stage setting or any suggestions for getting stage photos? Thanks so much.

Have you tried raising the iso settings to increase your shutter speed and reduce blur? Have you tried using a tripod?

lol i have no idea what iso speed is or how to raise it. the blur is from the movement of the subject on the stage, when the shutter is open longer because the automatic camera thinks its dark.

How about we start off with the type of camera you have. Do you know what the brand and model of your camera is? This could help us out with giving you advice.

ISO - ISO is a measurement of a digital camera's imaging sensor's sensitivity. Digital cameras with high ISO capability are better able to take low-light images and pictures of fast moving objects.
