A Picture is Worth...

A thousand words? Is that not what they all say?
They shall say no longer! Today, my fellow OMGPOPpers, I invite you to reach beyond the numerical value of the beloved picture, to explore your sentiments over the course of capturing that perfect moment.

{The rules are simple.}

• Theme: Timelessness. You know, those moments when it doesn't make the least difference what time it is or even what era you're living in, because all you know is that you feel blissful and that's all that matters. The obsession over the turn of the new year has alleviated, so play around with this theme, as there's plenty of room for creativity!
• The photo you submit must be one that you have personally taken, not found on the Internet or "borrowed" from your grandpappy and claimed to be yours. I trust that you'll be honest and won't sink to such methods simply to obtain a suitable photo! It is required that the photo be no smaller than 350x350 pixels; this is because, to an extent, quality and size go hand in hand. In unique cases, such as in the submission of a panorama, the width of the photo may be slightly less than 350 pixels.
• Along with your photo, it is required that your submission incorporate an, at most, 150-word paragraph describing the significance of the photo to you. Yes, it's not a thousand words, but as it goes, quality over quantity! It would be very helpful if you could allude to how the photo relates to the theme. Tip: An indicator of whether your picture fits the theme is how you were feeling at the time you took the picture. Thus, it is preferable that you submit a picture that you've taken within the past year, as the passion that is inherent in the photo will be at its brightest. However, it is a personal choice, and if you choose to submit an older photo, it will not be held against you.
• You are only allowed one (1) entry. Any subsequent entries will be either overlooked, deleted, or both.
• You are not allowed to reserve a post and then edit it later to include your submission. Such reserved posts will be deleted if seen, and trust me, they will be noticed.
• All OMGPOP site rules apply.
• To show that you've read all of the rules, include the name "Patrick" somewhere in your post, as a reference to my photo above!

It was funny, because it was a rainy day since the early morning when I got there, and there were no certain signs of it clearing up and the sun peeking out. But to my surprise, the afternoon came around and the skies were a beautiful shade of blue. Truth be told, it reminded me of how dark times and bad moments can change in an instant if you don't let them eat at you. Situations can clear up if you let them. And the woman sitting alone on the hill there, whether it be cloudy or sunny, she's still beautiful in either situation. The weather will not change her. As an added note, finding the serene environment in a large populated city. ♥

This is one of those moments when you feel like a bird.Literally. I looked out of the window on my way to Norway and saw this amazing view - a shiver went down my spine. I thought how little I am , like a mote in the whole world, but still I can change a lot.
And .. the clouds were like a snow cover, so white, so endless, so misterious and neat. It was amazing. See - little things like a view can be like an open window to your soul and make you believe that life is the most incredible yet to be discovered mistery. Never stop believing in your abilities and dreams. Just like being above clouds.And yeah Patrik is pretty cool

16th Birthday

A lot of girls ask for cars on their 16th birthdays; but my family is poor, and i know they can't afford things like that. All I asked for was a nice dinner at my favorite restaurant: The Red Lobster. I got a lot more than anticipated. Everyone in my family sent me something; and a lot of them even showed up to give me cards in person. My dad, the joker, gave me play money and a little toy car! My mom brought me home a toffee chocolate mousse straight from the QFC bakery. My older brother gave me some money, so did my grandpa and uncle. That's a lot coming from them. My aunt came over after the dinner and made drinks for everyone, she's a bartender. My dad's gf gave my the cutest purse, brand new! I don't usually get brand new things. My grandma sent me a cookbook for my hope chest, I used it one time to make her muffins. I burnt them though. I've never had a more perfect day. It ended wonderfully too. My mother had taken the time to type out a really long note and gave it to me just before bed. We fight all the time and that note made me see things a lot differently, I'm so happy to have a mom that really loves me. She called me peaches in the note, she hasn't called me peaches since I was very little. I will always remember this moment (that big slice of cake was for me!). Never in my life will I ever be able to feel so cared for and so loved. All this is remembered by just a few lonesome leftover pictures sitting around on my desktop. I'm so glad we are able to take pictures, I don't want to risk forgetting the single most wonderful day of my life.
