Verifying and confirming are two things that are needed for a secure site. I don't know why you wouldn't want these. Some sites be them an online store or even a social network such as myspace/facebook may ask you to confirm or verify that you are who you say you are. By doing this they are making sure you are the owner of the account and not some lowlife scam rat trying to make off with some personal information, money and a valuable item or three in which does not belong to them.

Oh and you DON'T get out of them! There's no way past it. EITHER YOU ARE THE OWNER OF THE ACCOUNT OR YOU'RE NOT! Simple as that. You want to get arrested and face prison time. Then keep thinking.
