Remind you of Super Mario Kart?
Seriously. The items are on the floor, the extra point thingies are on the floor, the map boundaries look kinda like mario circuit for it (in some stages), the drifting.
The only thing that does not remind me of that is: the graphics for the scenery and the racer.

well in omgpop, some games are modeled after other games, so yes, it does seem that they modeled Hover Kart Racing after Mario Cart.
