Well, so does Sumo Paint. Sure, it's slow at times, but my computer's almost as old as a young dinosaur. :|

Every one
Hi I am Sammie, like in Samantha. I am not the greatest artist in the world and I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, however anything I do I try to do my very best that I can, so please don't be to harsh with your criticism of my drawing. I have been trying for several years to draw the picture I am posting but I never could find the perfect scene to sketch. I work on my dads ranch/farm and any spare time I had I would go over the hill to sketch the moo cows in the pasture and it doesn't take a cow expert to know that cows are hard to sketch because they don't really stand still.
I wasn't sure when I was done as to the name I wanted to give my drawing since I was passionately torn between two titles that I felt would compliment the work I had put into it, so I offer both titles for anyone to choose as they wish. The title for my drawing could be " Cows Eating Grass"* or " Cows Eating Grass In The Snow"**
I hope you like it and thank you for your time in looking at it.

* I know that the viewer can see very little grass in the picture, that is due to the fact that our cows really enjoy eating grass and that was the message I was attempting to convey. We have a handful of sheep that graze in the same pasture as the moo cows and you can see that sheep will eat the field clean. You may have to look at the top of the sketch to maybe see the cows. a cow will not hang around if they are hungry they will move to another field to find more grass.


** I forgot the year it snowed but as one can tell that when it snows in Mississippi it really snows hard and most of the sketch background was actually drawn from memory. It was extremely hard to blend the blizzard scene in with summer cows allowing for the foot of snow that was on the ground that year. I am also afraid the sheep tended to blend in with the snow more than I anticipated but thats life.

The border I drew on my photoshop, so thats the only computer generated art in the picture. All the rest was hand drawn

It's best for drawing anime style and it's really precise. Over a range of brushes (water color, brush, pencil, etc) to choose from and alot of people use it. Most people on dA use SAI and it pays off. o:

i agree, i got SAI several weeks ago and it works great. unfortunately my trial expired, so i can't save or open pics, but all the other functions still work ;D

Sumo Paint has even more brushes and tools to use. It's free, too. I tried out SAI yesterday and still thought SP was better.
