Technically, Dragon Ball Z was the very first anime I had ever watched, unaware that it was anime. I didn't know what anime was back then (was only 9-10 yrs old). But the very VERY first anime I watch, COMPLETELY aware that it was indeed anime, was Inuyasha. I didn't find out that Dragon Ball Z was anime until I was 12, Haha. ^__^

Now I am an advent anime watcher, can list of SEVERAL series i have either watched all the way through, own, or at least seen parts of, and like/dislike within ten minutes. List is... loooong. to me, anyways. lol. Now I draw anime/manga, watch anime series and movies all the time, and read manga all the time. I have even made a manga series all my own. But my mother lost most of the pages, and I didn't do the intelligent thing.... number the pages!! T__T

I'm going to remake it though, sometime soon. I have gotten my step kids desperately in love with anime now. They absolute LOVE to watch, (they are 12 year old boy and almost 8 year old girl) Vampire Knight and Vampire Knight Guilty, Dragon Ball Z, Trigun, Naruto, and several others. Those are just the three main ones they LOOOOOOVE.

oh, and now that I think of it.... sadly. lol. I forgot!! WAYYYY before DBZ, TECHNICALLY, was pokemon. Pokemon was my life between the ages of 6 and 9, that I use to watch with my neice and nephew, every morning before school, because the end of the episode was perfect timing for us to get out still and not miss the bus, and in the evening before dinner. I even went and saw POKEMON THE FIRST MOVIE (with mew and mewtwo) in freakin' THEATERS!! absolutely CRIIIIIED when ash got turned into stone!! <(T__T)>

I myself, still like pokemon, but ONLY the original 150-155! None of this fandangled new crap! I still have some original pokemon cards, still have Pokemon SNAP for the 64', Pokemon Stadium for the 64', Hey You Pikachu for the 64', and some of the original pokemon games for gameboy color and gamboy advanced. ^__^

I really don't remember my first anime. If I had to name one that sticks in my mind i'd go with Sailor Moon. Followed by Escaflowne and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Pokemon was the first for me. Digimon was the first I watched in it's entirety, sans Data Squad. After that was Yu-Gi-Oh.

Actually, Avatar is an American-made cartoon and not an anime. It certainly looks like Japanese animation, though.

Well...not exactly. Anime are cartoons originally made in and for Japan. Today the definition of Anime extends to any cartoon that resembles Japanese animation. In which case Avatar: The Last Airbender is, by today's definition of it, an anime. Yeah, I just ate my own words.

But yeah, everyone here has bound to have seen at least one anime, whether they knew it or not.

Anime means animation in japanese .meaning its a carooon.
